Sonali And Resham Talk About Their Interesting Characters In Satrangi Sasural

Versatile actors Resham Tipnis and Sonali Sachdev have carved a niche for themselves by slipping into every character with equal ease in the world of television, theatre and films. Both are known to portray author-backed roles with flourish over the years. And they’re back yet again to win audiences over with their roles in Zee TV’s upcoming show-Satrangi Sasural, a show that tells the story of a girl who marries into a household with seven mothers-in-law.

Playing mothers-in-law to the leading lady Aarushi (Mugdha Chapekar), Sonali Sachdev and Resham Tipnis are the Maa & Buaa Maa to the hero Vihaan (Ravish Desai) respectively. Having worked together in the past, the two are glad to be working together in Zee TV’s Satrangi Sasural with other prominent faces like Bhavna Balsavar, Sadia Siddiqui, Resham Tipnis, Sheetal Thakkar, Sonali Sachdev and Samta Sagar along with veteran actor Farida Jalal.

Playing a tomboyish, spinster saas, Resham says that she is eagerly looking forward to the audience response for her character as she has not attempted such a role before. about her character, she says, “I play the unconventional saas, who is not married yet has mothered Vihaan along with six other women who happen to stay under one roof due to various circumstances. I play the role of Mini Maa, who is Vihaan’s youngest buaa and doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage given all that she has seen her elder sister go through in her married life. A bubbly and vivacious personality, my character is a fitness freak and someone who does not shy away from hitting men who behave inappropriately with women. I will be seen riding bikes which was quite an interesting part of playing my character. I have put in my best efforts to make it look more realistic by working on the subtle nuances and mannerisms.”

While Resham is the unlikely saas on the show, Sonali Sachdev plays the role of a calm and composed saas, who is Vihaan’s biological mother. Talking about her character, Sonali says, “I play the character of Narmada Vatsal, even though her husband has left her without telling her, she is not bitter about life. Instead, she’s raised Vihaan instilling in him, strong values to make him a loving, kind & compassionate human being. The concept of seven mothers-in-law seemed interesting and different from the average, run-of-the-mill fare one typically samples. That is what compelled me to opt for the role. I am sure everyone will be able to relate to the show and its believable characters. Working with Resham is a pleasure as she is an easy going and supportive co-star, we have worked together in the past and it was fun shooting with her again on this show. In fact all of us really look forward to shooting everyday as within a short span of time we have become a family on the sets.”

Produced by 24 Frames, Satrangi Sasural has Ravish Desai and Mugdha Chapekar as the lead protagonists Vihaan and Arushi. The show is being conceptualized and adapted by the renowned Purnendu Shekhar. Known for his ability to lend any concept his own unique, fresh treatment, interesting interpretations and layering of characters, Purnendu is bound to create a show that will captivate the audiences. With not one …but seven mothers doting on Vihaan (Ravish Desai), will Aarushi (Mugdha Chaphekar) think twice about accepting the challenge of marrying into a family of seven mothers-in-law and living up to their varied expectations? Only time will tell!

Jab Yeh Chote Bachche The…

Going down the memory lane, popular television actors share what they miss about their childhood and how they would like to relive their childhood if they will become a kid for a day…

Childhood days are most lovely days in our lives that we cherish the most. Even if we grow up, we miss the memories of our childhood days and we always wish to relive our childhood days and we still try to relive it by doing masti and playing silliest pranks on our friends.

On the occasion of Children’s Day, We asks your favorite stars to go down the memory lane and speak about what do they miss the most about their childhood. Also if given a chance to become a kid for a day then how they will relive their childhood days again.

Let’s hear what they said…

Preetika Rao currently seen as Aaliya in Colors’ Beintehaa – I used to travel a lot with my family. I still cherish the memories associated with my trips to Tirupati, Matheran, Bangalore, Mahabaleshwar, etc. That used to be a nice picnic for our family members. Now such trips hardly happens. Only work related trips happen now. If I will become a kid for a day then I will play cards with my cousins. I will get back to drawing and play treasure hunt with my friends.

Anubhav Srivastava, last seen as Sachin in Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta – I miss the freedom of my childhood when I could do anything I wanted to. Now we have so many limitations. We used to do all the masti and have so much of fun. We had complete freedom and not at all bothered about anything. I really miss those moments of my life. I used to hate my school during those days but now I love it. If I would become a kid for a day then I would like my parents to take me to Disneyland where I will enjoy all the rides without any restrictions. I would like to relieve those moments of my childhood days again but in a different way. I will buy lots of toys, call my friends to my house and create a mess, hit anyone without any fear of getting scolded and have lots of fun.

Mugdha Chaphekar, soon to be seen as Arushi in Zee TV’s upcoming Satrangi Sasural – I miss my school days a lot when I used to be every teacher’s favorite. If I would become a kid for a day then I would put on my school uniform and run to school for a day. Children’s day is all about celebrating the child in you. I think every person has a child in him/her which keeps them going. Its fun to be crazy some times especially with your parents; no matter how old you are, for them you are always a child.

Vishal Vashishtha, who essays the character of Baldev in Star Plus’ Veera – I miss the free time and all the attention that I used to get from everyone during my childhood days. If I will become a kid for a day then I will go back to school and relive my childhood days.

Ansha Sayed currently seen as Purvi in Sony TV’s CID – My father was strict and protective towards me. He never used to allow me to go out and play after 5-6 o’clock in the evening. I miss playing a lot. I feel that I am still like a kid because I still do all the mastis that a kid does.

We wish our readers a very Happy Children’s Day!
